Anyone know what it's called?

They look like French Lavender flowers but have the leaves of an orchid.......

I  found these two plants growing on a bank under a fig tree near the house yesterday while watching the water go round the vegetable patch.  Never seen them before, any one know what they are?  They may be something really obvious like a Lavender Orchid but whatever they are called, they aren't in my plants of Southern Spain book.

Hi Vicki your plant is indeed a tassle hyacinth, or if you prefer Muscari comosum - widespread and common in Southern Europe and also sold for garden use in UK . Sorry I've only just logged on after a break of a few days, or I would have commented earlier - recognised it immediately. I often watch your blog and Margaret says I should make myself known - Margaret is my cousin, Ted Rowley was my Dad. Your new life seems very interesting, lot of hard work though, have worked in Horticulture all my working life so know what it's like. I will continue to watch your blog, can you grow parsley ? it makes a wonderful soup using a leek/potato/onion base ( all sweated in oil) then veg stock and handfuls of parsley and simmered for 10 mins. You can either eat it lumpy or sieve / liquidise it, very refreshing and tasty. Regards Penelope
